Remembering World War I: students who gave their lives.

Lance Corporal Alexander James Rollinson served in the Royal Scots Fusiliers. His name is noted in the press cuttings album as having passed an exam in Freehand Drawing in 1912 at Leicester College of Art (a predecessor of DMU). He died on 21st August 1916. He is commemorated on the Thiepval War Memorial in France. A memorial created for all those who went missing during the Battle of the Somme.
