A small selection of the treasures we have in the Archive and Rare Books collection was put on display for researchers and speakers attending the Research Conference today.

One researcher takes a moment to flick through a 1936 college diary, designed in-house by students of the Leicester College of Art, a predecessor of DMU. The researcher, a Graphic Designer explained that the diary was an example of early ‘offset’ printing technique.

Example of the Offset printing technique, in which the inked image is transferred (or “offset”) from a plate to a rubber blanket, then to the printing surface.

The display showcased our Books, journals, fanzines and magazines from ther Sports History Collection, Kodak Collection and Russian Space Exploration memorabilia. Books and journals from the research library of Kodak Ltd

Also on show were items from the National Art Slide Library, formerly held by the V&A, a large collection of lantern slides on art and architectural subjects as well as medals from the Special Olympics Collection.
